He came to America from Posen, Germany in 1864 - located in Goshen, IN a few
months (during Lincoln & McClellan campaign) then Bloomington, IL.
Worked for Chicago & Alton Railroad.
Probably the eldest of the 3 brothers/he seems to be in charge according to
the church minutes.
